Kwirkz runs on Community Support!
Almost everything we do on the ground is carried by volunteers. You do not need a background in disability services. You need a few hours and the willingness to serve.
Three easy steps!
We keep the on-ramp short on purpose. The barrier to helping should be lower than the barrier to needing help.
Tell us what you'd like to do
Email us with what you'd like to do and roughly how much time you have. One paragraph is plenty. If you are not sure where you'd fit, say that instead and we'll suggest something.
We match and train you
We'll come back with a specific slot and what it involves. Roles that put you alongside participants include a short training session, and standing roles that work directly with families include a background check.
You show up and we look after you
You'll have a named person on the day, a clear job, and someone to ask. Nobody gets handed a clipboard and abandoned in a car park.
A note on safeguarding. Any role that puts a volunteer in direct, ongoing contact with participants or their families requires a background check and training before the first session. That is not bureaucracy, it is the whole reason families trust us with their kids.
Other ways to contribute!
Volunteering is not the only lever, and a couple of these take under a minute.
Donate
Kwirkz is a 501(c)(3), EIN 87-1423716, so your gift is tax deductible. It helps fuel the mission, so we can keep giving back to the community in a big way.
Refer a resource
Know an employer who genuinely accommodates, a driver worth trusting, a program that works? Tell us. Referrals from families are how the good ones get found.
Share our work
Follow along and pass it on. Most families find us because another family told them, not because they searched for us.
Ready when you are.
Email us what you'd like to help with and roughly how much time you have. We answer every message, and we'll never put you somewhere you don't want to be.
