What we collect, and what we do not.

Written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, that is our fault and not yours. Email us and we will explain it in plain words and fix the wording on this page.

The short version

Four things worth knowing.

We do not sell your data

Not to anyone, for any amount, ever. We also do not trade it, rent it or hand it to advertisers.

No tracking, no cookies

This site runs no analytics, no advertising tags and no tracking pixels, and it sets no cookies. We cannot tell you how many people visited yesterday, because we do not measure it.

The waitlist is the only form

It is the one place on this site where you type something and we keep it. Everything else is a page you read or a link that takes you somewhere else.

Ask and we delete

Email us and we will remove you from the waitlist and delete what you gave us. You do not need a reason and you do not need to be polite about it.

The waitlist form

Every field, and why it exists.

This is the complete list. There are no hidden fields beyond a spam trap, described below.

What the waitlist form collects Two fields are required. Everything else is optional and the form works without it.
Field Required Why we ask
Joining as Optional Whether you are a family or a resource and service provider. It changes what we send you, so families do not get provider mail and the other way round.
Your name Required So we know who we are writing to. A first name is enough.
Email Required The only way we have to tell you when Kwirkz launches. This is the one field the waitlist genuinely cannot work without.
Location Optional City, state and ZIP, so we can point you at resources near you rather than resources three states away. Leave it blank and you still join the list.
Areas of interest Optional Education, employment, social life, transportation, housing, or something you type yourself. It tells us what to build first.
Spam trap Hidden An invisible field that people never see and automated bots fill in. If it has anything in it, we know the submission was not a person. It collects nothing about you.

Please do not send us health or diagnostic information. We do not ask for it, we have no field for it, and the waitlist is not a secure medical form. If something about your family's needs matters for how we help, tell us once we are actually talking, not in a signup box.

Who else is involved

Three companies your browser talks to.

Loading a web page is never just you and us. These are the only three that receive anything, and this is exactly what each one gets.

Google Fonts

The typefaces on this site are served by Google. Your browser fetches them on every page, which means Google receives your IP address and the kind of device and browser you are using.

When
Every page load, automatically
What they get
IP address, browser and device type
Can you avoid it
Not without turning off web fonts in your browser

BigDataCloud

If you press Detect next to the location box, your browser asks your permission, then sends your exact coordinates to BigDataCloud, which turns them into a city and ZIP. This is the most sensitive thing that happens on this site.

When
Only if you press Detect and then allow it
What they get
Your precise latitude and longitude
Can you avoid it
Yes. Type your city instead, or leave it blank

OpenStreetMap

The map on our contact page is embedded from OpenStreetMap. When that page loads, they receive your IP address. The map shows our partner venue, not you, and it does not know where you are.

When
Only on the contact page
What they get
IP address
Can you avoid it
Yes. Every other page loads no map

Links are not the same as embeds. This site links out to PayPal, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Google Maps. Those companies learn nothing about you unless you actually click through, and once you do you are on their site under their rules, not ours.

Where it goes

Your details are kept in ClickUp.

When you submit the waitlist form, what you typed is sent to our own server at kwirkz.net, and from there into ClickUp, the project tool the Kwirkz team already uses to organise its work. One entry is created per person. Only the Kwirkz team can open it.

Your browser never contacts ClickUp. That handover happens from our server to theirs, which is why ClickUp does not appear in the three above. It is not told your IP address, it is not told which pages you looked at, and it receives nothing except the fields you chose to fill in.

Who receives itClickUp, acting for us What they receiveOnly what you typed Your IP addressNever sent to them How longUntil you ask us to delete it

Nothing from the form stays on your device. Submitting it leaves no cookie and nothing in your browser's storage. If sending fails, the page tells you so and asks you to try again, rather than quietly pretending you joined. The cookies page covers the rest.

Children

This waitlist is for adults.

We serve families that include children, and we take that seriously enough to be precise about it. The waitlist on this site is meant to be filled in by a parent, a guardian or another adult. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and there is no field anywhere on this site that asks about a child.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it. You will not need to explain yourself twice.

The Kwirkz app is a separate matter. It is still being built, it will handle far more than an email address, and it will carry its own privacy terms written before it opens to anyone. This page covers this website only.

Your control

What you can ask us for.

You do not need to live anywhere particular to use any of these. We would rather just honour them for everybody than check which rules apply to you.

1

See it

Ask what we hold about you and we will send you the lot. It is short, so this will not take long.

2

Fix it

Wrong email, wrong town, changed your mind about which areas matter. Tell us the correction and we will make it.

3

Delete it

Ask and it is gone, along with your place on the waitlist. We keep no shadow copy.

One address for all of it: thekwirkzfoundation@gmail.com. A real person reads it. Put anything in the subject line you like, or nothing at all.

Changes

When this page changes.

Kwirkz is being built, so this will not be the final version. If we start doing something materially different with your information, we will say so here and we will email the waitlist rather than quietly editing the page and hoping nobody reads it.

Still not sure about something?

Ask. Privacy pages are usually written to be unreadable, and if this one lost you at any point we would genuinely like to know which part, so we can rewrite it.
